Transcript

  1. 0:02 This video is explanation of what's inside your permit book that you will receive
  2. 0:07 from our company.
  3. 0:08 You will find our logo and our company name.
  4. 0:14 We were established from 2013. You will find here the company name again,
  5. 0:19 the physical and mailing address,
  6. 0:22 and also our phone number, fax number, MC number, DOT number, AIN number.
  7. 0:28 This is our website right there.
  8. 0:30 So we'll get started. This first page is just
  9. 0:36 the content, what's inside the book, which I'm going to go through right now.
  10. 0:43 You will always find a copy of your driver license and medical card. Why we put it
  11. 0:48 here?
  12. 0:48 It's because people sometimes they tend to lose their wallets
  13. 0:55 or forget it somewhere.
  14. 0:58 So it's always good to have a copy of your driver license and also medical card.
  15. 1:03 The second page is left blank. That's for team drivers.
  16. 1:08 So the next page you will see is the cap card for your truck.
  17. 1:12 When you first start with us, if you need registration through us, you will receive
  18. 1:18 a temporary card, temporary permit, which is valid for 45 days.
  19. 1:24 And as soon as we receive the original plate and also the original cap card, we'll
  20. 1:30 probably, if you're in the area, you can pick it up from the terminal
  21. 1:34 and we can mail it to you.
  22. 1:36 The next page is going to be the inspection of your tractor.
  23. 1:43 Following page, it's going to be the registration for the
  24. 1:49 trailer.
  25. 1:50 You'll find your trailer number there and you'll find the annual vehicle inspection
  26. 1:55 of the trailer.
  27. 1:57 Please note when you pick up these trailers, make sure the tires, brakes, there are
  28. 2:03 no damages to it.
  29. 2:04 If they are, always take a picture.
  30. 2:08 We need to know the same date that the damage was there when you guys picked it up,
  31. 2:13 not two weeks later.
  32. 2:15 We really need to find out if there was a damage.
  33. 2:17 It was when you guys picked up the trailer or if there is something wrong with it.
  34. 2:23 Also, please note that we do cover normal wear and tear on tires and brakes.
  35. 2:28 So what that means is if we do
  36. 2:34 inspection every four months on your tractor and the trailer.
  37. 2:37 Those inspections, they will be covered by the company.
  38. 2:40 And when we do the inspections, we also measure the tires on the trailer, the
  39. 2:46 brakes on the trailer.
  40. 2:48 And when the time comes and they're almost time
  41. 2:53 to be replaced, we will replace those tires and brakes for free.
  42. 3:01 So if the tire blows up on the road or you
  43. 3:07 step on a nail,
  44. 3:08 that's something that, you know, us as a company, we cannot prevent.
  45. 3:13 And then we do not cover that.
  46. 3:16 So that's going to be all on you.
  47. 3:19 But we'll be fair.
  48. 3:20 And for example, let's say your tire blows up on the road and the tire, the
  49. 3:26 threat on the tire was half gone.
  50. 3:29 So half of the life of the tire was already used.
  51. 3:33 Then we're not going to charge you for the full tire.
  52. 3:35 We'll probably charge you for half of it.
  53. 3:37 So please pay attention, you know, so when you when you pick it up this
  54. 3:44 next page, you will say your name.
  55. 3:47 It will say the ELD login information and then what
  56. 3:53 the password for the ELD is.
  57. 3:57 Underneath that, this is how your fuel card will look.
  58. 4:01 It's an EFS card.
  59. 4:03 You will find what the unit ID is and what the password is.
  60. 4:08 We do have unlimited fuel at Pilot and Flying J.
  61. 4:12 Or if you go outside their network, let's say this is TA or Love's,
  62. 4:18 you can get up to 60 gallons as long as it's the first fill of the day.
  63. 4:24 So of that day that you're fueling.
  64. 4:27 So otherwise we get unlimited fuel at Pilot and Flying J.
  65. 4:33 We do have a fuel program and it's an you
  66. 4:39 need to download this app called Fuel Book.
  67. 4:41 It's an orange app.
  68. 4:42 I already have tutorial video made how the app works, how you can
  69. 4:48 download it.
  70. 4:49 But you can also check here, you know, what you need to do to register the app and
  71. 4:53 how the app works.
  72. 4:54 But please look at my video that I created for it.
  73. 4:57 It's very easy.
  74. 4:58 And you can save 60, 70, 80 cents a gallon on some truck stops.
  75. 5:04 It varies from truck stop to truck stop.
  76. 5:10 This next page is another app that you need to download and that I already created a
  77. 5:16 video for it as well.
  78. 5:17 It's called Logix Anywhere.
  79. 5:20 And this app is for submitting your bill of lending.
  80. 5:23 So we require every single driver to submit bill of lending.
  81. 5:26 Once they complete a load, you guys have to take a picture, submit it into the app
  82. 5:30 and your job is done.
  83. 5:33 Now, there are two different ways how the app needs to be downloaded.
  84. 5:37 If you do have an iPhone, you can just go to App Store and you can download it.
  85. 5:42 But if you do have an Android phone, please watch my video how you need to download
  86. 5:48 the app because it's a little bit different on Android phones.
  87. 5:51 You will find with yellow your ID for the app.
  88. 5:55 Then you put your first name, last name, URL that you need to put.
  89. 6:00 And make sure you don't make any mistakes when you put the URL.
  90. 6:05 And then the port.
  91. 6:07 Once you enter all of that information, the app will open.
  92. 6:10 And then again, we have a tutorial video. You can watch what you need to do after
  93. 6:14 that.
  94. 6:15 This is again our phone number for the company.
  95. 6:18 You will find here whoever is your fleet manager, fleet manager extension.
  96. 6:24 And this number here is only for texting.
  97. 6:26 So like I mentioned earlier, you see any kind of issues or problems or whatever you
  98. 6:31 need.
  99. 6:31 And you don't like to talk or you need to send a picture.
  100. 6:35 You can always text your fleet manager right there.
  101. 6:38 Underneath the fleet manager, you will find whoever is your dispatcher.
  102. 6:41 Whatever the dispatcher extension is.
  103. 6:44 And the phone number for your dispatcher that you can text.
  104. 6:48 Please again remember those numbers are not for calling.
  105. 6:51 They are only for texting. We cannot pick up on those numbers because those are
  106. 6:55 computer numbers.
  107. 6:56 But when your dispatcher sends you load information such as
  108. 7:01 company name, company address, pick up number, rate, delivery information.
  109. 7:06 He will text you from this number.
  110. 7:10 And also he will send you the load information to your ELD device.
  111. 7:14 Now on your ELD device, I again have a tutorial video how you need to accept the
  112. 7:20 load information.
  113. 7:21 Which means when you go to pick up, you will need to mark arrived shipper.
  114. 7:26 When you get loaded, depart shipper.
  115. 7:28 And then when you get to your delivery, you will need to mark arrived consignee and
  116. 7:32 empty call.
  117. 7:33 That way we can automatically track you.
  118. 7:35 We can see if you're running late, if we need to push any appointments.
  119. 7:39 So please watch the video how you can update that.
  120. 7:44 Your dispatcher hours are from 6 o'clock in the morning until 3 p.m.
  121. 7:49 Monday through Friday.
  122. 7:50 But we do have 24/5 pretty much dispatch, which is Monday through
  123. 7:56 Friday.
  124. 7:58 It's 24 hours.
  125. 7:59 So from 3 p.m. until 6 o'clock in the morning, we have two dispatchers on duty.
  126. 8:04 You can find their extensions right there.
  127. 8:06 And then from 10 p.m. until 6 o'clock in the morning, there is another dispatcher
  128. 8:10 who is on duty.
  129. 8:11 In case the dispatch, the after-hours dispatch is unavailable, you can always call
  130. 8:17 the maintenance department.
  131. 8:18 They're 24-7.
  132. 8:19 [extension withheld]
  133. 8:22 Maintenance department, they can help you with load related issues such as, you
  134. 8:28 know, getting like a problem.
  135. 8:29 Proper pickup number or maybe paying a lumper.
  136. 8:33 But they don't have the market knowledge to help you find loads.
  137. 8:36 But that's why we have the after-hours dispatch.
  138. 8:40 We also have weekend dispatch on Saturday between 7 o'clock in the morning and noon.
  139. 8:45 Why we don't have anybody after noon is because most of our
  140. 8:50 customers are closed and you won't be able to get a hold of anybody actually over
  141. 8:54 there.
  142. 8:55 But if you need any kind of help, our maintenance department.
  143. 8:59 It's always there.
  144. 9:00 [extension withheld]
  145. 9:02 This link here is the link that I was mentioning earlier for driver tutorials.
  146. 9:07 If you go drivers.deltacarriergroup.com, you're going to be able to see those videos.
  147. 9:15 This next page is our certificate.
  148. 9:18 We've been operating from April 5th, 2013.
  149. 9:22 So we've been for quite some time in the business.
  150. 9:27 Next page, you're going to find your IFTA.
  151. 9:30 You will also receive some IFTA stickers that you need to put on your truck or we
  152. 9:36 can help you put them on.
  153. 9:38 The following page, you'll find the insurance details.
  154. 9:41 You'll see that we have commercial general liability.
  155. 9:43 We do have auto liability and we have cargo.
  156. 9:47 Now for cargo insurance, everything that we book up to $100,000, we'll just book
  157. 9:53 the load and send you the load information.
  158. 9:56 You can see here that we have $250,000 actually in cargo.
  159. 10:01 Everything more than $100,000, we see it as a high value load.
  160. 10:05 What that means, we're still going to book the load, but your dispatcher will call
  161. 10:09 you and tell you that make sure before you pick up the load,
  162. 10:14 fill up and then do not stop the first 250 miles.
  163. 10:18 Why we tell you that information?
  164. 10:21 Not to be scared.
  165. 10:22 It's just there are a lot of bad people out there.
  166. 10:24 They know where the higher value loads are, especially on a drive-in as well.
  167. 10:32 So we don't want them to follow you.
  168. 10:35 We don't want them to steal the truck.
  169. 10:37 We don't want them to do any kind of damage to you.
  170. 10:39 So that's why just to be on the safe side, do not stop the first 250 miles after you
  171. 10:44 pick up those loads.
  172. 10:45 For the drive-in drivers, if you end up getting a Pepsi load
  173. 10:51 or Coke loads,
  174. 10:54 please make sure that they shrink wrap the pallets really nicely because lately
  175. 11:00 they've been doing a terrible job.
  176. 11:02 And when you show up to your delivery, everything is going to be on the floor and
  177. 11:05 then you're responsible for the load.
  178. 11:07 Every single load that you pick up from the time you pick up until the time you
  179. 11:11 deliver, you're responsible for that load.
  180. 11:16 So if you end up getting a Pepsi load, the dispatcher probably will let you know as
  181. 11:20 well.
  182. 11:21 Make sure they shrink wrap the pallets really nicely.
  183. 11:25 Make sure they put dunnage bags in between those pallets and then you will receive
  184. 11:29 five straps from the company.
  185. 11:31 We will give you five straps when you start.
  186. 11:34 Make sure you put some straps on the end of the
  187. 11:40 load.
  188. 11:42 This next page is for your ELD, how the ELD works.
  189. 11:46 If you don't know how the ELD works, you can either follow this tutorial here or you
  190. 11:50 can watch a video.
  191. 11:52 If you go to that link that I mentioned earlier, there is a tutorial video how your
  192. 11:56 ELD works.
  193. 11:57 But this is also for the DOT so they can check as well.
  194. 12:01 All of those pages are for the Omnitracs.
  195. 12:07 We have no tolerance for unsafe driving.
  196. 12:10 What that means, if you get a speeding ticket or texting while driving or using a
  197. 12:15 handheld mobile device,
  198. 12:18 please make sure you're going to try to fight that, go on court and try to clear
  199. 12:23 that violation.
  200. 12:24 If you end up getting your violation on your record, then the safety department,
  201. 12:30 they're either going to issue a warning,
  202. 12:31 all depends on the severity of the violation, or they might terminate your
  203. 12:35 employment.
  204. 12:37 This next page is the hours of service, how the 11, 14, rest and 70 hour
  205. 12:42 limit and the sleeper berth work.
  206. 12:48 This is for personal convenience.
  207. 12:50 You're allowed to use PC as long as you're not under dispatch.
  208. 12:54 So if you're not under dispatch, it's your truck, you can use it how you want it.
  209. 12:59 But once you're under a load, you will not need to follow the rules.
  210. 13:05 So there are some exemptions that you can use a PC as long as you're not advancing a
  211. 13:10 load.
  212. 13:11 Let's say you pick up a load, you need to, when you're going towards delivery, then
  213. 13:16 something happened, either truck or you need to go somewhere.
  214. 13:19 As long as it's not towards the delivery, it is the opposite way, you're okay to use
  215. 13:23 the PC.
  216. 13:24 Otherwise, no.
  217. 13:25 There are some other options how you can use PC here.
  218. 13:29 Please just read through it and you'll understand.
  219. 13:32 There are some driver safety tips right here to take care of yourself, keep your
  220. 13:37 distance, you know, maintain your truck, which is, you know, everything is like
  221. 13:43 something that everybody should do.
  222. 13:47 This next page is if you, for each state of,
  223. 13:52 if you like to idle,
  224. 13:54 if they have fines for that state or, and also if they have exemptions.
  225. 14:00 So before you like to idle, please check every state and check what the exemptions
  226. 14:06 are that you can idle.
  227. 14:10 That's for all of the states.
  228. 14:13 If you ever run on West Coast, this is mostly, you know, for the states that they
  229. 14:19 require chains for you to have.
  230. 14:21 And when they require them, on which wheel you need to put the chains on.
  231. 14:26 And this final page is your lease agreement with the company.
  232. 14:31 Now we're 100% on ELD compliant.
  233. 14:38 If, in case your ELD breaks down for some reason, you can always use the
  234. 14:44 paper log.
  235. 14:45 Maximum of seven days or pretty much day eight, you need to be in the company.
  236. 14:50 So if your, if your ELD
  237. 14:56 breaks down, just give your, give a call to your dispatcher.
  238. 14:58 And tell him that you need, he needs to bring you to the terminal.
  239. 15:05 We also have some EFS codes here.
  240. 15:09 This is mostly for the drive-ins.
  241. 15:12 So if you guys end up having lumpers, you can pay with this EFS codes.
  242. 15:18 Just call the company.
  243. 15:19 Please don't ever pay the lumper by yourself before you check in.
  244. 15:24 There are large companies like JB Hunt or Swift.
  245. 15:26 They will never, if you pay the money yourself, they'll never going to reimburse
  246. 15:31 you.
  247. 15:31 So always check with your dispatcher.
  248. 15:34 And if you end up getting a link, maybe from the lumper company, just
  249. 15:40 forward it to your dispatcher.
  250. 15:41 He'll take care of it.
  251. 15:43 But always check with your dispatcher first before paying that.
  252. 15:49 Thank you.

Shipment visibility

How tracking works today

A secure link, sent directly

When an active shipment is ready for tracking, Delta provides a secure direct tracking link to the broker or approved shipment contact. That contact may share the link with the appropriate customer.

What the link provides

  • Near-real-time shipment visibility from the latest available tractor or trailer location update.
  • The latest position on record and the time that position was reported.
  • A direct view for the approved people handling that shipment—without placing shipment data on a public page.

What is still in development

Public self-service tracking on deltacarriergroup.com is not currently available. Delta is still developing that website experience. If an approved contact needs the current secure link again, dispatch can resend it directly.
